SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
The Pirarucu is a fish native to the Amazon and is widely used in cuisine. The skins are a byproduct of the fishing industry, provenient from regulated farms or riverside fishing, in a sustainable practice controlled by government agencies and NGOs dedicated to preserving the species.
The sustainable fishing of Pirarucu is only authorized on “off season”, from August to November, being forbidden during breeding season in order to preserve the species.
